Ashling's PathFinder for MPC5500 v1.0.7 Source Debugger software, used with Ashling's Vitra and Genia Emulators for Freescale's MPC5554 series, includes many updates and improvements in response to requests from MPC5554 developers.
PathFinder for MPC5500 is available for download by registered and authorized users of Arcadi's Software Update and Support Service for Ashling MPC5554 tools.
New Features in the PathFinder-MPC5500 v1.0.7 Source Debugger
- PathFinder-MPC5500 at v1.0.7 and SymFinder-DWARF at v1.1.8.
- Stepping from a breakpoint when an interrupt is pending is now supported.
- Improved flash programming support; better error handling and user-interface improvements.
- Support for interrupts and exceptions in the Call/Return window.
- Added support for *.s?9 filter in various File picker dialogs.
- Full VLE (Variable Length Encoding) support.
- Miscellaneous bugs fixed (breakpoints and trace).
- Please note the following known issues with eTPU debugging in PathFinder-MPC5500 v1.0.7 due to issues with the ELF/DWARF debug information produced by the Byte Craft v1.0.7 eTPU_C compiler:
- Source-level ('C') debug for eTPU applications with more than one C source file is not supported.
- Display of eTPU complex variables (structures, unions, arrays, etc) is not supported.

Important Installation Information for PathFinder
Before downloading PathFinder, please note that:
- Corporate users should first check with their Tools Support Group before downloading; an authorized Software Update Service login and password is needed to download this software.
- Under Windows Vista/XP/2000 you will need administration privileges to install PathFinder.
You will be prompted for your Software Update Service username and password after clicking the Download button below. Once the username and password have been verified, you will be brought directly to your download.
Unzip using WINZIP or PKZIP for Windows and run SETUP.EXE from the downloaded zip-file.
Please note that software and hardware user logins may be different. For software downloads, use the appropriate (software) username and password.
Important Installation Information for USB Operation
If you see a "New USB hardware found" message after you connect your Ashling Emulator to your PC using a USB cable, then point
the USB driver installation wizard to your \PFMPC (PathFinder-MPC5500) directory to allow
installation of the Ashling USB driver. Windows only needs to perform this operation the first time you connect your Ashling Emulator to your PC. Microsoft Windows XP users can safely ignore any Windows-generated warnings about the Ashling drivers not passing Windows Logo Testing.
Important Installation Information for Ashling Emulators
After installing this software, please ensure you turn off and on your Vitra or Genia Emulator before running the new installed version. This ensures that your Vitra or Genia diskware software is updated to the latest version supplied with this release.
